KIDS
THEATRE CLASS
SCHEDULE
Get ready for some Fall Theatre FUN! Our first session of Kids Theatre Classes runs from August 19th to September 23rd. Our second session will run from October 19th to December 7th. Here's the info for SESSION ONE:

We are offering FOUR different theatre classes on Thursday evenings this fall. Each of these classes will last for 6 weeks with an in class showcase for friends and family on the last day.
If you have a child that wants to be a part of CTA's Kids performances (Junior Team Productions), they will need to take our "CTA Stars!" class before auditioning. If your child wants to audition for the Fall 2021 Production (The Melodrama) and has not yet taken "CTA Stars!", they may audition for the Fall show as long as they also enroll in "CTA Stars!" on Thursday evenings. *This will mean they will be in theatre class/rehearsal both Tuesdays and Thursday evenings.

PLEASE NOTE:

All of the material in our classes is designed specifically for the age groups listed. Students enrolling must turn the minimum age by the FIRST DAY OF CLASS. Because we want our students to get the maximum benefit from their theatre experience, we will not make exceptions to the age ranges in our classes.

All students are expected to participate in class activities each week. Students need to understand that they are 'participators' rather than 'spectators'. It is important that everyone comes to class each week ready to be a part of the group.

COVID Info
Yukon Church has spread out their seats in accordance with the COVID-19 theatre seating guidelines to help ensure students will be socially distanced while seated.
We do not know, at this time, what the fall will look like, concerning COVID. For now, masks are required at dropoff for temperature check and only worn when students are working face to face. If COVID numbers rise again or mandates change, we may spend more class time in masks and take multiple mask breaks.
It is important that parents know that there will be times where kids will have their masks off. If parents wish for their students to keep their masks on for the entire class without breaks, they need to make sure their child and director know this.

"Homeschool Drama Club"
*Ages 8 to 14 years (must be 8 by August 19th)
*Thursdays 3:30-4:30pm at Yukon Church
*August 19th-September 23rd
*TUITION: $80 per student plus $25 enrollment fee per household family
*Tuition is due at time of enrollment
*Class size: Minimum of 6, Maximum of 16

We are so excited to get to have a drama club specifically for homeschooled students! This class is going to be a great place for homeschoolers that enjoy performance to connect with other students that also love being on stage. Skits, games, improv, character creation, story retelling, music, movement and MORE will be part of this awesome club! Each fun-filled, energetic week will keep students connected as they work together, collaborating with friends on special in-class group projects and challenges. This is not a "production class" and is great for beginners and those whose schedules do not allow for activities with large time commitments. It's a great time to hang out with other homeschooled students with similar interests and have an enjoyable time creating together!

"CTA STARS!"

CTA STARS! is a class for all students at Connect Theatre Arts. This class provides an introduction to stage acting for kids ages 8 to 14. Students will be learning the basics of stage acting as well as terminology, characterization concepts, audition help and much more. This class gives young actors a great foundation in the art of theatre and will be a very helpful tool to those students wanting to perform in plays.
CTA STARS! class is a requirement for any student wishing to audition for CTA junior productions.

"SKITS & THEATRE GAMES"
*Ages 9 to 14 years (Must be 9 by August 19th)
*Thursdays 7:00-8:00pm

*Class size: Minimum of 6, Maximum of 16

Skits & Theatre Games is a fast paced, fun-filled, celebration of theatre! This class stays busy every moment of the night. Whether it's creating improv skits with classmates, working in partners to sell crazy products in made up commercials, or joining the group in a silly theatre game, there is much fun to be had. Kids will enjoy getting to create and perform with other students all while learning and improving their basic theatre knowledge. This is not a 'sit down for a lesson' type class. We will be up, moving, working together and having a blast connecting to others through performance. If you have a student that enjoys performance and working with others, they will love this class!
