SUMMER

DRAMA

INTENSIVE

"Sebastian is an outsider. He struggles to “fit in” at school. To complicate the matter even more—Sebastian has a special gift. Whatever he writes, comes TRUE! Unfortunately, Sebastian has made a bit of a mess with his ability and finds himself in a jam. He must choose between losing something very precious to him and helping someone in a dire situation. Can he put aside his selfish desires in order to use his gift selflessly for another person?"

--This plays tackles tough, relevant issues like bullying and loneliness with grace and humor. Students will connect to its honesty and purity. It relays powerful messages of hope and forgiveness and shows us that while we all have special gifts and abilities, it's important to share and use those gifts with wisdom.

This summer in Mustang, Connect Theatre Arts will be holding their first Drama Intensive for the play "When Sebastian Writes" by H.B. Duncan.

DRAMA INTENSIVE TUITION: If you are cast, $150 plus $25 enrollment fee (for new CTA members) will be due at script pick-up on April 28th. There will also be a costume fee for each student of $30 which is due the first day of the Intensive (May 29th).

  • This will be a two week summer camp for students ages 6-college.

  • All interested students will need to audition. There are 20+ roles available. A 30 second monologue plus some possible script reading will be necessary for auditions. All interested students will need to sign up for an audition time at http://www.signupgenius.com/go/508084daead2aa0fd0-summer

  • The directors are looking for students that can project their voices, memorize quickly and take directions well.

  • It will be important that students can make every day of the intensive since the play will be put together in such a short amount of time. A specific rehearsal schedule will be given out to all cast members with detailed times for rehearsals during camp days but most actors will be in rehearsal from 10am-4pm each day of the intensive.

  • Performances will be on June 8th at 7pm and June 9th at 2pm. All cast members will be required to stay and help clean up after performances.

  • If you are given a part, all of your lines MUST BE COMPLETELY MEMORIZED by the FIRST DAY OF REHEARSALS (May 29th). Cast members will be given 4 weeks to memorize their lines.

  • Please bring an acting resume and headshots (a snapshot is fine) with you to auditions.
