RAINBOW FISH
SUMMER MUSICAL

Everybody loves the international bestseller and award-winning book, The Rainbow Fish, with its wonderful message of friendship and belonging. This large-cast musical features a variety of charming school and sea-creature characters who admire the famous Rainbow Fish, the most beautiful fish in all the ocean. When Ranbow Fish refuses to share his (or her) vibrant, shimmering scales, the whole ocean seems to turn against the vain creature. Unhappy that no one adores him anymore, the Rainbow Fish seeks out the wise Octopus who helps the fish learn that it is far better to be admired for being kind than for being beautiful.

CTA Production Guidelines:
-
There will be lines to memorize. All lines must be learned by THE FIRST DAY OF INTENSIVE, July 17th. If actors fail to meet this requirement, their roles will be recast. If they desire to stay in the production as an ensemble member, they may. If they choose to leave the production, no refund will be given.
-
Attendance is crucial to performance. PLEASE CHECK YOUR CALENDARS BEFORE AUDITIONING. If you need to miss a day or a few hours during the first week of intensive, it is POSSIBLE that the directors can work around this. But you will need to let them know BEFORE auditions.
-
If you are a student with many other time commitments that may interfere with these rehearsals, this will not be a good fit for you.
-
Actors need to be on time for rehearsals and need to stay for the entire rehearsal each week.
-
All actors will be signing a Production Contract if offered a role. Please read the CTA Guidelines to familiarize yourself with our policies. You can find this under the "About Us" tab along with a copy of our production contract.
-
Actors must follow all dress code rules in the CTA Guidelines for each day of rehearsal. We are not lenient in this area.
-
While theatrical experience is not a requirement, a cooperative and directable attitude is. Please read our code of conduct before signing up for auditions.

There will be paperwork for parents to fill out at auditions. Please know your child's clothing and shoe sizes, waist size, height and medical/emergency information. Paperwork will take around 15 minutes to fill out. Be prepared to list any conflicts you have with the rehearsal schedule AT THIS TIME.
-
All auditionees will be reading from the script. If an auditionee struggles with cold reading, but has no problem memorizing, email us before auditions to see if we can help them be better prepared: connecttheatreokc@gmail.com
-
All auditionees will also be singing at auditions. They need to prepare a 30 SECOND CUT FROM AN AGE APPROPRIATE SONG. The song lyrics need to be memorized and all auditionees will be singing acapella--no backtrack or accompaniment will be provided.
-
All auditionees must be 8 by audition date of June 8th.
-
All parents and auditionees need to read the CTA Code of Conduct before auditioning. You can find this under the "About Us" tab. The signature pages will be available at auditions.

One of the commitments to a CTA production is after show clean up. ALL CAST will be required to stay after our Saturday performance and help clean up the church. It usually takes us about 2 hours to get everything cleaned up. No cast member is allowed to leave until we are finished.
-
Our directors are looking for students that can speak loudly and show character on stage. Positive, cooperative, directable attitudes are a must.
-
You may be cast in a speaking role OR a background/nonspeaking role. All roles are assigned per the director's discretion.
-
If you are unable to make auditions, you may audition virtually or via an audition tape (an emailed recorded reading/song). Email us for more info.
